Cookies and Analytics Services
1. WHAT IS A COOKIE?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit this website. Cookies collect and store certain information for a certain period of time in order to ensure the functionality of this website and make your visit more comfortable (for example by remembering your preferred settings). In addition, cookies help us to better understand how our visitors use this website. On the one hand, this enables us to constantly improve the website and its user-friendliness, as well as providing our visitors with information that is more relevant to them. Additionally, certain cookies can be used in order to provide you with personalized advertising.
2. WHICH TYPES OF COOKIES DO WE USE?
Various types of cookies are used on this website. The list of the individual cookies of the respective cookie category can be found in the "Cookie settings" on this website. How to deactivate cookies is described further below.
Necessary cookies (including functional cookies)
Necessary cookies make it possible for this website to function properly and make your visit enjoyable. For example, these cookies allow you to log in to your user profile, fill in forms, or place products in your virtual shopping cart. You can set your browser to block these cookies or to notify you of these cookies.
With this type of cookies, we can count visits and identify traffic sources to help us identify and improve the performance of our website. They help us to understand which pages are most popular, which are the least used, and how visitors move around the site. All information collected by these cookies will be aggregated and processed on an anonymous basis.
Marketing cookies (including social media cookies)
This type of cookies can be set by our advertising partners and social media partners when you visit this website. Those companies use the cookies to create a profile of your interests and to show you relevant advertising on third party websites.
3. WHAT IS THE LIFESPAN OF A COOKIE?
Basically, a distinction is made between "session cookies" and "permanent cookies". "Session cookies" are temporary cookies that remain on your device until you leave the website. A "persistent cookie" remains for a period of time set for this particular cookie or until you disable the cookie. Persistent cookies are useful as they allow you to be recognized on your next visit to our website.
4. HOW CAN I ADMINISTER COOKIES?
If a cookie is deactivated, no new data will be collected by this cookie. Data collected prior to deactivation may be further processed by us. In particular this is the case with performance cookies, where we may continue to process analytics data on the basis of our legitimate interests.
SOCIAL MEDIA PLUG-INS
Our Site may contain links to the external social networks such as Facebook or Twitter, and you may share on social networks the content of our Site.
This Site uses a safe sharing tool which establishes a direct contact between the social networks and users only after users click on one of the respective buttons. This tool does not automatically transfer user data to the operators of such platforms. If users are logged into one or more of the social networks, the use of social buttons for Facebook, Twitter etc. will display an information window in which the user can confirm the text before it is sent. The user can share the content of this Site on social networks without their providers creating profiles of users’ surfing behavior.
This Site measures conversions using visitor action pixels from Facebook Inc. ("Facebook").
This allows the behavior of Site visitors to be tracked after they click on a Facebook ad to reach the provider's website, enabling an analysis of the effectiveness of Facebook advertisements for statistical and market research purposes and their future optimization which is our legitimate interest.
You can deactivate the custom audiences remarketing feature in the Ads Settings section at http://www.facebook.com/ads/preferences/?entry_product=ad_settings_screen. You will first need to log into Facebook. If you do not have a Facebook account, you can opt out of usage-based advertising from Facebook on the website of the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance: http://www.youronlinechoices.com/de/praferenzmanagement/.
GOOGLE ADWORDS CONVERSION-TRACKING
Our Site uses the online marketing programme “Google AdWords”, including conversion tracking. Google conversion tracking is a service operated by Google Inc. (“Google”). If you click on adverts placed by Google, a cookie is placed on your computer for conversion tracking. These cookies have, in general, a limited validity of up to 30 days (this duration applies only for cookies which have been set by this Site), do not contain any personal data and thus cannot be used for personal identification. If you visit certain pages on our Site and the cookie has not yet expired, we and Google can recognise that you have clicked on the advert and were forwarded to this page. Every Google AdWords customer receives a separate cookie. Therefore, it is not possible to track cookies relating to the websites of AdWords customers. The information collected using the conversion cookie serves the purpose of producing conversion statistics. This allows us to find out the total number of users who have clicked on our adverts and were forwarded to a page equipped with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information with which could be used to personally identify users. Processing is carried out on the basis of our justified interest in targeted marketing and analysis of the effectiveness and efficiency of this marketing.
